We have tried to answer the most common questions, but if you still have questions ask Jim

1. Do you mail patterns and projects?  No, you print our patterns on your computer.  We used to mail patterns, but the steadily increasing costs of printing, blueprint paper, postage, envelopes, etc. kept forcing us to raise prices.  By going to our print-on-you-own-computer format we can keep prices low and delivery fast - Saves you time and money!!
Of course, if you ordered a CD rather than individual projects, it will be delivered by SPEEDY First Class Mail. (to top)

2. How are the patterns or projects delivered?  After your order is processed we will e-mail you a link to a webpage that contains your patterns or project.  You simply visit that page and follow the directions to print your patterns.  Of course, if you order a CD, it will be delivered by SPEEDY First Class Mail. (to top)

3. How long until I get my patterns or projects? We process orders by hand for minimal mistakes and utmost privacy and security so on average it takes a couple hours to receive the e-mail with the links - much faster than waiting for the mailman!  The actual time varies with server speed, bank and e-mail traffic and may range from a few minutes to a few hours.  Since we do process by hand, orders placed on holidays or in the middle of the night (EST) may be slower than orders placed during normal working hours. Of course, delivery time for CD's will take a three or fours days by First Class Mail. (to top)

4. How can I print 3 ' tall yard art patterns on my computer? That is the beauty of our print-a-projects... All of our patterns are printed on standard 8-1/2" x 11" computer paper so no special printer  or paper are required.  While many projects can fit on a single page, larger designs are printed as sectional patterns where the FULL SIZE pattern is printed on multiple pages that fit together to form the completed design.  The Rooster at right is a simple example; Two pages are printed and the two parts of the pattern are joined at the small circles across the center of the pattern. This simple system works for any sized pattern (just print more pages) and it's much easier than enlarging small patterns and less expensive and faster than mailing big blueprint patterns. The large yard art patterns even offer techniques to simplify the process of laying out these large designs. (to top)

5. Do patterns have to be enlarged?  You may enlarge or reduce patterns if you wish to change the size of the project, but all of our patterns are FULL SIZE. Please be aware, that some projects (like yard furniture, bridges, etc.) clearly say they are plans and although they may contain full size patterns for key parts, the entire project is not a full size pattern. (to top)

Rooster woodworking pattern is in two sections

6. Are all the patterns FULL SIZE? Yes, all of our patterns are full size, but some projects will clearly say they are plans and may not be totally patterns.  See #5 above for more detail. (to top)

7. How long do I have to print the patterns or projects? The links are more or less permanent so you may return at any time to reprint the patterns if they are lost or ruined. We say more or less permanent because a few years ago our domain name was hijacked and we had to change our domain name, but we made sure that everyone that asked got the new links! (to top)

8. Are the pond building projects plans and patterns too? The woodworking type of pond projects are a mix of plans and patterns depending upon the individual project.  The projects that feature building a pond, water feature, waterfalls and similar tend to be techniques, drawings, sketches, tips and instructions so they are more flexible than a set plan. We feel you should create these water features to suit the area, your taste and budget rather than according to a set plan. (to top)

9. How easy are the patterns to print? If you have ever printed a picture or photo from the web, then you can print the patterns.  The most common difficulty is that your printer margins may be set so they cut off a bit of the printed page, but this is easy to fix as explained HERE        (to top)

10. What if I can't print the patterns? If you describe the difficulty to us in an e-mail, 99.9% of the time we can talk you through it with a single e-mail in return.  Out of thousands of orders, there were only three people that couldn't eventually print the patterns and we refunded payment to one and mailed the patterns to the other two (they offered to pay postage). (to top)

11. Are the CD patterns any different than the online ones? No, the patterns are the same - For maximum compatability, the CD's are designed to work like a web site so the patterns work exactly the same whether on our CD or directly from our site. Note: Some Macs may have difficulties with the CD's so ordering the individual projects would be the best option. (to top)

12. Are the CD's compatible with all computers?  Just about... Our woodworking CD's run like a web site so they work on all PC's with CD-R, CD-RW or multi-read CD-ROM  or DVD/CD drive (includes most CD drives) and Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, XP, NT, Vista (many systems with Linux) and an Internet browser (Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox, Opera, etc.)
» Mac users: Most Macs with 'File Exchange' software can use the our CD's, but we cannot be sure the CD works on YOUR Mac. (to top)

13. I am still confused about the Pattern Bin and Scroll Bin CD's. Are they entirelty different patterns? The Pattern Bin contains ALL (over 750) of our woodworking patterns INCLUDING those on the Scroll Bin CD and the Holiday Yard Art & Decorations CD's.  The Scroll Bin CD and the Holiday Yard Art & Decorations CD's are like pieces of the Pattern Bin so those with more specialized interests can purchase only the patterns that suit their interest and still save substantially over individual patterns prices. (to top)

14. Do I get ALL of the water garden projects in the Pond Place CD, including the bridges, benches, etc.? Yes, the Pond Place CD includes about 300 pages of water garden information including ALL of the projects listed in the water garden project section of our Project Shop. (to top)

15. Do I have to order online by credit card? That is the fastest method, but you may also order with a credit card by FAX, by Voicemail or by mail or you may order by mailed check or money order.  You will be offered the options as you proceed through checkout. (to top)
